It's done. He's gone and nothing's going to bring him back. I am a little mournful that my EDUC 730 days are nearing an end... assuming successful completion of the course. EDUC 730 will have an immediate impact on my practice. I enjoyed both the content and the intensive format. If any of you happen upon this - Thanks.

One down...
Just submitted my webquest and lesson plan. I enjoyed creating the WebQuest. It was fun finding the student resources. I will use the WQ this Fall with my chemistry kids.

Back to reality....
Now that I have left the technology incubator or Dr. Holder's class, I am a little nervous. I enjoyed the comfort of having a group of supportive individuals at my side and an expert advisor on hand.
I spent the weekend completing Dr Black's leadership assignment. Part of my task was to create a personalized development plan. It was a very rewarding activity. I shared the plan with my wife; she's ready to help. Good times in the White House.
It's back to work finishing Dr. Holder's course. My plan is to develop a lesson involving the periodic table. I think my kids will benefit from the technology integration. I am going to look for other opportunities to integrate technology. Naming chemical compounds and writing chemical formulas is often a struggle. That will definitely be another tech integration opportunity.

Outrageous Audio
We attempted to create a funny audio clip using half of a conversation provide for our group. We open the file in Adobe Soundbooth. The basics are fairly intuitive. Our project can be downloaded from box.net, an online audio sharing site.

Reflection 4: Opportunity
You Tube did not like our .avi file from Adobe. I used a free trial software to convert the first three minutes of our instructional video. The conversion process was painless and took about one minute.
We discussed Photoshop and watched a demonstration. I tried to keep up with Dr. Holder, but was not quite successful. Here is my first attempt. I have hair!

Reflection 3: Join me on a quest....
WebQuests are inquiry based activities that can create significant student engagement. They provide a tremendous opportunity to incorporate multi modal media content in a manner that allows students to actively explore the content. It’s engaging and fun.
Check our WebQuest on David and Goliath.
My hope is to create a Periodic Table WebQuest for my students this Fall.

Reflection 2: Citation Salvation and more
End Note is going to make a difference in my dissertation efforts. Sure it's nice to auto-insert citations and simultaneously crate a reference page, but the real joy is that it is a clearinghouse for reference materials. There is new hope for organization. I am going to use End Note for our bibliography project.
Video killed the radio star..... I'm all in. The personal and professional implications are tremendous. I can hardly wait to share this with family, friends, colleagues, and students. I experimented with Adobe Premiere Elements 7.0 today. What a powerful tool. I have much to learn, but I am excited. Check out my attempt from this morning.
